Colter Residence
Phoenix, Arizona
The project entailed remodeling a 2,100 SF ranch-style house in a north-central Phoenix neighborhood. Built in 1948, the original house had substandard systems and an improper addition, and needed work to enhance safety, function and livability while preserving the character of the home. The owners, a young family, were on a modest budget and tight time frame.
Problem-solving
A new porch enclosure was designed to preserve the existing rafters and tongue-and-groove sheathing and to create a cavity to allow for adequate insulation. Structural modifications were made, new electrical service and new wiring was installed throughout the home, including new phone/internet/TV wiring and wiring for future fiber-optic capabilities.
Client Testimonial
We had a really pleasant experience working with Rousseau Design. Clyde’s got so much integrity, he’s so honest. And he was good about giving us pros and cons of different options, guiding us but letting us make the decisions.
We first talked to Clyde as an architect, then learned he’s also a general contractor, which gave us a single source. We were very happy with his workers, who he’s been working with them for a long time. They were always very polite but went right back to work.
We totally love the results.
